Dealing with impossible clients needs
In past, i dealt clients with unlimited and impossible needs with little to no twist on their part. This is one of the most common issues corporations faces today. How can one escape with satisfying clients without doing anything?
I heard a story once which became very effective in dealing with such situations for me. I will be very brief without going into a detailed story line. Once there was a king who gathered top artist from all across the country to make a painting replica that looks exactly like him. Each artist displayed their drawings with their best ability, But not one could satisfy the king. A wise young man approached the king with a mirror in his hands and placed right opposite to where he was sitting. King was very happy and amazed with this young mans ability to prove him that the only image that can ever exist is by a reflection in mirror.
I remembered serving one of the biggest VOIP communication client when i worked with IBM. Service manager’s request were ridiculous at times. However, in all these situations we first need learn to fulfill needs for clients and more importantly their satisfaction. As the young boy in the story knew that what king wanted was simply impossible. He still won over the competition by doing nothing. The idea here is to provide a practical proof of that what you are chasing after is a ghost. Arguing with client on their impossible request is not going to do any good to you or the company. They pay money for support and services, they want results. Communicating whats in your mind clearly and being more truthful rather than being diplomatic is the right way to tackle situations like these. Send a clear message out.
